Abak Robert the Resident District Commissioner Nebbi district officially opens the ICT and Multimedia Skilling for Youth training on 9 th April 2024 at Immaculate Hearts of Mary Nebbi Catholic Parish Church hall under the theme SKILLING YOUTH FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL DEVELOPMENT. Over 100 youth in Pakwach district where 1/3 of the number constitute the unemployed category, have been blessed with a free training for a period on one week conducted by Mediavision Academy with support from Uganda Communications Commission to ensure young people in Pakwach compete favorably in workplace environment and the environment outside the workplace that impacts work. In the last day of the training after successfully young people in Pakwach being taken through training in ICT and Multimedia skilling, Mediavision Academy thought it prudent enough to take through the participant in Entrepreneurial and Financial Literacy skill. EFFECTS FROM RANDOMIZED TRAINING IN ICT & MULTIMEDIA TO YOUTH IN PAKWACH.

 This Article evaluates the impact of a randomized training program brought by Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and her partners MEDIAVISION ACADEMY & GRETAK SERVICES LTD to the youths in Pakwach on ICT & Multimedia outcomes of trainees. This is one of two such randomized training trials conducted on the fourth day of the training and, as such, it offers the unique opportunity to examine the causal impact of training in a developing context. Youths one by one demonstrating their lessons  We use collected data on groups randomly selected to training and find that training had widespread and large effects on youth in terms of creating content, using the available application to exhibit created work, assignment to ensure that trainees learnt what they were taken through.   In particular, youths who received training having a higher probability of being employed, of having a formal job with a written contract. This initiative, aimed at bridging the digital divide, is set to equip participants with essential skills for the digital age, such as content creation, multimedia production, and internet proficiency. Pakwach district, located in northern Uganda, is a predominantly rural area with limited access to technology and opportunities for youth development. The lack of digital skills and knowledge among the youth has been a major hindrance to their personal and economic growth.
