Member of Parliament HASHIM SULEMAIN graces the ICT & Multimedia training in Nebbi

The world we live in today is constantly evolving, and technology is at the forefront of this change. As we move further into the digital age, it is crucial for the youth to be equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in this fast-paced environment. That is why the ICT and Multimedia Skilling for Youth sponsored Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) partnering with Mediavision Academy and Gretak Services Limited in Nebbi at Cathedral Parish Hall is a commendable initiative.

Hon. Hashim Suleiman, the Member of Parliament for Nebbi municipality the guest of honor has expressed his joy at being invited to be a part of this initiative. He has emphasized the importance of ICT in all economic activities in the country and encouraged the participants to make use of the skills and knowledge gained to enter the international market and become successful entrepreneurs.

He has urged them to put an end to unnecessary phone conversations and instead use their devices for productive purposes. This is a crucial message, as the youth of today are often glued to their phones for social media and entertainment, and may not realize the potential for using it as a tool for economic growth.

Hashim has also called upon the youth to embrace government programs such as EMYOOGA and the Parish Development Model (PDM) to benefit and help them eradicate poverty. These programs aim to provide employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for the youth, which in turn will make them more patriotic and peace-loving citizens.

He has put in a special request to UCC and Mediavision Academy – to continue delivering such productive trainings in Nebbi and to also consider other areas that are far away from the towns. This is a valid point, as many youths in rural areas may not have access to such opportunities and would greatly benefit from these trainings.

As a token of appreciation, Hon. Hashim has awarded certificates to the coordinators of the training, Kiconco Irene Faith and Cwinya-ai Denis, as well as the youth district chairperson of Nebbi, Rwothomio Saviour Kakonda. These individuals have played a crucial role in the success of the training and their efforts have been recognized and appreciated by all.

Abak Robert the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Nebbi District in his address has expressed his gratitude towards the UCC, Mediavision Academy and Gretak services Limited for organizing this training and providing the youth of Nebbi with valuable skills. He has also commended the participants for their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. Abak has reminded the youth to appreciate the efforts of the government in providing such trainings, which are fully funded by government entities.

The training organized by the UCC, Mediavision Academy and Gretak Services Ltd in Nebbi is a great success. The participants have gained valuable skills in ICT and multimedia, and have been encouraged to utilize these skills for their personal and professional growth. The presence of Hon. Hashim Suleiman, as well as the support from Abak Robert the RDC, have highlighted the importance of such initiatives in empowering the youth and promoting economic growth. Let us hope that more such trainings will be organized in the future, reaching even more youth in remote areas and helping them to realize their full potential.
