As we move further into the digital age, it is crucial for the youth to be equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in this fast-paced environment. That is why the ICT and Multimedia Skilling for Youth sponsored Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) partnering with Mediavision Academy and Gretak Services Limited in Nebbi at Cathedral Parish Hall is a commendable initiative. Abak Robert the Resident District Commissioner Nebbi district officially opens the ICT and Multimedia Skilling for Youth training on 9 th April 2024 at Immaculate Hearts of Mary Nebbi Catholic Parish Church hall under the theme SKILLING YOUTH FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL DEVELOPMENT. Over 100 youths from different sub counties in Nebbi are participating in this training sponsored by Uganda Communications Commission partnering with Mediavision Academy a film and television training school in collaboration with Gretak Services Limited. Graining ICT and Multimedia skill is one of the leading strategies that business people, individuals and social media influencers use to monetize their followings and presence. At least 110 youth in Pakwach District have embarked on training by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and Mediavision Academy with Gretak services limited on the basics of using Information and Technologies, something that will aid growing techniques in affiliate social media influencer use to increase their earnings in social media marketing. In a bid to empower the youth of Pakwach district with digital skills, a 5 days ICT & Multimedia Skilling for the Youth Training commenced on the 2nd ending on 6 th of April, 2024, at the council hall. This initiative, aimed at bridging the digital divide, is set to equip participants with essential skills for the digital age, such as content creation, multimedia production, and internet proficiency. Pakwach district, located in northern Uganda, is a predominantly rural area with limited access to technology and opportunities for youth development. The lack of digital skills and knowledge among the youth has been a major hindrance to their personal and economic growth. However, with the increasing use of technology in various sectors, it has become imperative for young people to be digitally literate and have multimedia skills.
