EMPOWERING YOUTH THROUGH ICT AND MULTIMEDIA SKILLING IN NEBBI DISTRICT

In an ever-evolving digital landscape, acquiring relevant skills is key to unlocking opportunities. The ICT and multimedia training for the youth kicked of yesterday 8th April 2024 at the IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY NEBBI CATHEDRAL PARISH CHURCH HALL and will run for 5 days. Sponsored by Uganda Communications Commission partnering with Mediavision Academy and Gretak services limited, its main objective is to enhance tailored competences of the youth for utilization of ICT and Multimedia for employment, and development.

This will be achieved through developing and building the capacity of the youth to adopt ICT tools and applications in multimedia content production and related business processes, to enable the youths to improve their creativity, innovation, productivity, and competitiveness in national and international markets.

Day 1: Introduction to ICT, the program kicked off with an insightful session on the fundamentals of information and Communication Technology (ICT), participants were introduced to digital literacy, different types of cameras, camera movements and understanding the different shots taken while creating content. This session set a strong foundation for the days ahead, emphasizing the role of ICT in enhancing efficiency and creativity.

In conclusion, the ICT and multimedia skilling program in Nebbi District is a testament to the power of education in transforming lives. By empowering youths with relevant skills, the program will not only enhance their employability but also foster creativity and innovation. As participants embark on their journey towards a digital future, they will carry with them the knowledge and confidence to succeed in an ever-changing world.

    I really like what Media Vision Academy is doing. Now I no how to design graphics,make videos,how to take good pictures and how to use ICT and multimedia skills in running up a business and to make money just using my phone
