ICT & Multimedia Training opens in MOYO

In a world where technology is rapidly evolving, the importance of digital literacy cannot be overstated. Recently, Moyo District took a significant step towards digital empowerment with the official opening of an ICT and Multimedia Training program in the West Nile Region. This initiative, funded by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), aims to equip young people with essential digital skills that will not only enhance their personal lives but also open up new career opportunities. In an ever-evolving digital landscape, acquiring relevant skills is key to unlocking opportunities. The ICT and multimedia training for the youth kicked of yesterday 8 th April 2024 at the IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY NEBBI CATHEDRAL PARISH CHURCH HALL and will run for 5 days. Sponsored by Uganda Communications Commission partnering with Mediavision Academy and Gretak services limited, its main objective is to enhance tailored competences of the youth for utilization of ICT and Multimedia for employment, and development. In a bid to empower the youth of Pakwach district with digital skills, a 5 days ICT & Multimedia Skilling for the Youth Training commenced on the 2nd ending on 6 th of April, 2024, at the council hall. This initiative, aimed at bridging the digital divide, is set to equip participants with essential skills for the digital age, such as content creation, multimedia production, and internet proficiency. Pakwach district, located in northern Uganda, is a predominantly rural area with limited access to technology and opportunities for youth development. The lack of digital skills and knowledge among the youth has been a major hindrance to their personal and economic growth. However, with the increasing use of technology in various sectors, it has become imperative for young people to be digitally literate and have multimedia skills.
