ICT & Multimedia Training opens in MOYO

In a world where technology is rapidly evolving, the importance of digital literacy cannot be overstated. Recently, Moyo District took a significant step towards digital empowerment with the official opening of an ICT and Multimedia Training program in the West Nile Region. This initiative, funded by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), aims to equip young people with essential digital skills that will not only enhance their personal lives but also open up new career opportunities.

The opening ceremony, held at the People's Hall Moyo, was graced by Vuciri Geoffrey, the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer of Moyo District Local Government. In his address, Geoffrey emphasized the need for youth to embrace technology as we transition into a digital era. He highlighted the importance of the knowledge and skills that participants would gain from the training, urging them to apply these skills effectively in their personal and professional lives.

The four-day training program, led by Nkambo Robert from Media Vision Academy (MVA), aims to empower youths to utilize ICT tools to create content that can generate income and foster employment opportunities. Habib Hubz, the Training Coordinator, shared his personal testimony of learning video editing skills through the program. Despite this progress, he expressed concern over the low turnout of female participants and encouraged more young women to participate in future trainings.

Together, we can empower our youth to thrive in an ever-evolving world where innovation knows no bounds.
