In a world where technology is rapidly evolving, the importance of digital literacy cannot be overstated. Recently, Moyo District took a significant step towards digital empowerment with the official opening of an ICT and Multimedia Training program in the West Nile Region. This initiative, funded by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), aims to equip young people with essential digital skills that will not only enhance their personal lives but also open up new career opportunities.   Participants attending the ICT and Multimedia training at the Division Hall Written by Aloyo Annet, Director of Studies at Mediavision Academy Today marks the commencement of our five-day ICT and Multimedia training in Arua district.  The training is taking place at Oli division hall in the heart of Arua city.  Arua is a bustling regional trade hub in the far north of Uganda. This initiative is part of the Uganda Communications Universal Service and Access Fund (UCUSAF), implemented through the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC). Initially planned for 100 participants, the overwhelming need and potential in Arua district has prompted us to extend our reach to 130 enthusiastic youth. EFFECTS FROM RANDOMIZED TRAINING IN ICT & MULTIMEDIA TO YOUTH IN PAKWACH.

 This Article evaluates the impact of a randomized training program brought by Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and her partners MEDIAVISION ACADEMY & GRETAK SERVICES LTD to the youths in Pakwach on ICT & Multimedia outcomes of trainees. This is one of two such randomized training trials conducted on the fourth day of the training and, as such, it offers the unique opportunity to examine the causal impact of training in a developing context. Youths one by one demonstrating their lessons  We use collected data on groups randomly selected to training and find that training had widespread and large effects on youth in terms of creating content, using the available application to exhibit created work, assignment to ensure that trainees learnt what they were taken through.   In particular, youths who received training having a higher probability of being employed, of having a formal job with a written contract. Graining ICT and Multimedia skill is one of the leading strategies that business people, individuals and social media influencers use to monetize their followings and presence. At least 110 youth in Pakwach District have embarked on training by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and Mediavision Academy with Gretak services limited on the basics of using Information and Technologies, something that will aid growing techniques in affiliate social media influencer use to increase their earnings in social media marketing. In a bid to empower the youth of Pakwach district with digital skills, a 5 days ICT & Multimedia Skilling for the Youth Training commenced on the 2nd ending on 6 th of April, 2024, at the council hall. This initiative, aimed at bridging the digital divide, is set to equip participants with essential skills for the digital age, such as content creation, multimedia production, and internet proficiency. Pakwach district, located in northern Uganda, is a predominantly rural area with limited access to technology and opportunities for youth development. The lack of digital skills and knowledge among the youth has been a major hindrance to their personal and economic growth. However, with the increasing use of technology in various sectors, it has become imperative for young people to be digitally literate and have multimedia skills.
