Friday night was a night to remember. Aloyo Annet and Nkambo Robert, the director of studies and director  Mediavision Academy respectively made it to  Goethe-Zentrum Kampala in Kamwokya to watch Dreaming Whilst Black by Adjani Salmoni.  Adjani is a BAFTA award winning British film director and actor,  originally from Jamaica. The basement was filled to capacity as Ugandan filmmakers gathered to get a glimpse of this TV series. The screening opened with remarks from Dr. Anna Adima the director of Goethe-Institut Kampala.

Adjani commended the British Council, the British Commission and other partners for supporting the international artist exchange program that made the evening possible. Anna mentioned that Adjani's TV show, which is now showing on BBC, addresses issues of racial discrimination in the film industry. After her speech, Episode 1 and 3 were screened. The audience was thrilled with repeated moments of laughter.

"What impressed me the most is a statement that is ringing in my mind up till now.  WHEN YOU DON'T SHOOT YOUR MOVIE, YOU STOP ALL OPPORTUNITIES THAT WOULD HAVE COME OUT OF IT.  That was a straight message against procrastination" Robert Nkambo said. Other messages to filmmakers from Adjani's responses were;

Find your audience, be down to earth, ask for the highest pay, be creative in all situations, strive to be the best in your area, study every scene of the movie that inspired you to prepare your pitch and take advantage of what you have.

Robert Nkambo commends Goethe-Institut and her partners for this gesture. "I have no doubt that this initiative has is making a great contribution to the growth of Ugandan budding film industry. Looking forward for more" he concluded.
