X GENERATION LAUNCH-A SPIRIT OF WORKING TOWARD UNITY IN THE UGANDAN FILM INDUSTRY

For many years, the Filmmakers have and are still hunting all possible means to embrace unity, and work on policies that govern their work in the film sector. Never the less, these young and old men and women have not abandoned this until now. Although some have given up, the thirst and hunger for unity is still reflected from a number of Film makers and surely, one day, the dream will come to pass. On Sunday 4 th December, Mediavision Academy supported the Launch of a new Film power house in Uganda. The power house is a joining of four (4) film studios into one entity called X GENERATION. The film studios include:  Zenj Studios,  TEEZ Studios,  Purple Hearts and  Giraffe Motion Pictures.  The event took place at Fizzy Restaurant in Makindye. The proprietors of the four studios includes, Ismail Kyobe, Tolbert Baguma, Muyanja Bashir and Phatie Nakawuki. “NEVER BE SCARED OF TRYING NEW AND CHALLENGING THINGS”-JAMES AESEKOL -A PASSIONATE ACTOR

When Aesekol James was searching for a film school to learn acting, he zeroed down to Mediavision Academy after looking at our curriculum and the project model. He then joined us for the ACTING course. But along the way, he picked interest in the film production class which he later joined and learned CAMERA WORK, FILM EDITING, SCREENWRITING, CINEMA STUDIES, FILM ANALYSIS and more. During his stay at Mediavision Academy he produced and directed two amazing short films. SECERTS and AIDA. What caught our eye is that both films have a female as the main character. His philosophical ideas perceive women as caretakers, life givers and should be respected, promoted, protected and supported. As a young man who has always loved acting, he has now picked interest in other technical aspects of film production, and has turned into a passionate actor, robust cinematographer, film editor and screenwriter.  As an actor he has consistently delivered more than expected.   “The Mystery and Wonder of Flowers” – A Story by a Film Production Art Student “It is just unimaginable how a flower can play a part in curing a boy, Gavin in his 20’s, from a serious body dysmorphic disorder,” has revealed Laisa Gloria, a student in Film Production Art at Mediavision Academy that offers training programs preparing students for a variety of career paths in the film production industry.
